Defining the RSA Badge Standard
The RSA Badge Standard is the digital credentials standard used by the Royal Society of Arts (founded in 1754) to recognise non-accredited learning. It provides a framework for designing digital credentials to articulate the skills, knowledge and experience individuals gain when engaging with RSA and other organisations’ learning and enrichment opportunities. Grainne Hamilton’s work, with a team from the RSA and City & Guilds on the Cities of Learning UK blueprints, formed the Cities of Learning framework which became the RSA Badge Standard. Amongst other applications, the standard has been used to define digital credentials to recognise learning in city-wide skills pathways in more than 9 cities.
